Students who have been admitted to FSU for Summer or Fall 2024 are eligible to complete this contract. Students who are in a “deferred” or “waitlist” status with Admissions are not eligible to complete a housing contract until they are fully admitted.
Welcome Window:
The Fall/Spring contract will open on February 21st, 2024 at 10 AM. However, we know that you are busy and may have tests, school events, or family commitments at that time. You have the flexibility to submit the housing contract at any time from when it opens on February 21st through 11:59pm February 25th to be included in our earliest contract group. All students who submit contracts during these first five days will all be entered into a lottery and will receive a randomized contract number on February 26th. Contract numbers are displayed in the myHousing Portal.
After the Welcome Window:
If you submit your contract on February 26th or later, you will receive a contract number based on the date and time your contract is submitted. The contract number serves as your "place in line" for receiving on-campus housing and establishes your priority for room/hall preferences. Your contract number will be larger than those who contracted during the first five days. The contract will be open until May 1st, but remember that the earlier you submit your contract, the more options will be available at the time of your assignment.
Before Contracting: Activate Your FSUID
To access the contract on the housing portal, you will need to have activated your FSUID. To activate your FSUID, visit my.fsu.edu and click "Activate Your FSUID". This may take 1-2 business days, so this should be done in advance. You will need:
We also highly recommend setting up your Two-Factor Authentication through Duo Mobile before the contract opens to ensure you can properly log into the portal.
Please complete your Fall/Spring contract before you complete your Summer B housing contract, as we become fully booked for Fall/Spring housing much earlier than Summer. The Summer B contract will be available starting on March 7th, 2024 at 10am.
The following are highlights of the terms and conditions of the Fall 2024/Spring 2025 housing contract:

Your contract will be cancelled and you will lose your original contract number if you do not complete all of the steps below.
NOTE: Students with Florida Prepaid Housing benefit remaining: You will be given more information during the contract process about the deposit payment related to your Florida Prepaid.
If you are under the age of 18 on the day you submit the Fall/Spring housing contract, you will need to complete a Fall/Spring Parent/Guardian Contract Consent.
You can check the status of your contract, payment, required forms, view your contract number and any roommate request on the housing portal.
Only students who will not be attending Florida State University for the Fall Semester will be permitted to cancel their Fall/Spring housing contract.
We recommend you do not sign an off-campus lease if you have already completed a housing contract for Fall 2024/Spring 2025, as you will not be able to cancel it if you enroll at FSU.
To cancel your contract:
You can submit/update your hall and room type preferences as many times as you would like between February 26 and May 1.
Most students should expect to be assigned to a shared bedroom space with a shared bath that adjoins another shared bedroom.
Updating building and room type preferences will not change your contract date.
If you have a requested roommate, you should ensure that both you and your requested roommate have the same hall/room type preferences in the same order before May 1st.
When you select hall and room type preferences, you will be asked to rank several different halls/complexes and room types. Some similar halls are grouped together. Read more about the different halls/complexes and room types here.
Incoming students who would like to room with a specific individual (must also be an incoming student) will be able to submit a roommate request starting Febuary 26th through April 17th. Students with a mutual roommate request will be assigned based on the worst/highest contract number of the roommate pair.
Complete the following to request a roommate:
Students who have submitted a Fall/Spring housing contract will be able to submit building and room type preferences between February 26th and May 1st. University Housing will consider these preferences when assigning students in contract number order.
Students who completed a housing contract and pay an admission deposit by May 1, and completed registration for orientation by their posted deadline, will receive more information about housing assignments in early July. Remember that if you mutually select a roommate on your housing contract, you and your roommate will be assigned using the later/worst of your two contract numbers.
Halls will open for Spring Move-In on Saturday, January 4th at 5 pm. Information about move-in will be sent with assignment notifications.

To cancel your contract:
Since new Spring 2025 residents are assigned to spaces that are vacated by Fall 2024 residents, our ability to accommodate room type preferences from new spring residents may be limited or not possible. Unfortunately, due to the limited number of vacancies available for Spring semester, we are unable to offer the option to request a specific roommate or hall for the Spring semester.
Only students who have been admitted to FSU for Summer 2024 are eligible to complete this contract.
The Summer B housing contract for first-year students will be available on March 7th, 2024 at 10 AM . If you intend to live on campus for Summer and Fall/Spring terms, you should NOT wait to complete your Fall/Spring contract until the Summer contract is available, as this will significantly impact your Fall/Spring contract number. Your Summer B contract does not carry over to your Fall/Spring contract.
NOTE: The summer contracts for upper division transfer and current FSU students for Summer terms A, B and C will open in late March.
Your contract will be cancelled and you will lose your original contract date if you do not complete all of the steps below.
NOTE: Students admitted through the CARE Program will not have a deposit due for Summer term, as the CARE Program covers the deposit cost.
If you are under the age of 18 on the day you submit the summer B housing contract, you will need to complete a Summer B Parent/Guardian Contract Consent.
The following are highlights of the terms and conditions of the Summer housing contract:
Students who both complete a housing contract and pay an Admissions deposit by May 1, and complete registration for orientation by the published date, will receive more information about summer room assignments in early June, shortly before the start of the Summer B term.
Students are assigned in order by the date/time students complete Step 1 of their housing contract as long as the student completes Steps 2 & 3 by the deadlines.
Incoming students who would like to room with a specific individual will be able to submit a roommate request starting on March 7th and through May 1. Those students with a mutual roommate request at the time room assignments are made will be assigned based on the latest contract date of the roommate pair.
Complete the following to request a roommate:
You can update your hall and room type preferences as many times as you would like until May 1. Most students should expect to be assigned to a shared bedroom space with a shared bath that adjoins another shared bedroom.

Only students who will not be attending Florida State University for the Summer B Semester will be permitted to cancel their Summer B housing contract.
We recommend you do not sign an off-campus lease if you have already completed a housing contract for Summer 2024, as you will not be able to cancel it if you will be enrolled at FSU.
To cancel your contract due to not attending FSU:
Students that submit the online portion of their housing contract and thereby agree to the terms and conditions of the housing contract when under 18 years of age must also have a parent/guardian accept the contract terms and conditions using this form.
NOTE: Completing this form is NOT the same as submitting a housing contract! Students must ALSO submit the housing contract online.
Complete the following steps within 7 days of contract submission:
If a Parent/Guardian Contract Consent is not received for a contract period (i.e. Summer, Fall/Spring, Spring) within 7 days of contract submission, the student's housing contract may be cancelled.
