Eligibility
Only students who have been admitted to FSU for Summer 2026 are eligible to complete this contract.
The Summer B housing contract for first-year students will be available on March 25th at 10am Eastern Time. If you intend to live on campus for Summer and Fall/Spring terms, you should NOT wait to complete your Fall/Spring contract until the Summer contract is available, as this will significantly impact your Fall/Spring assignment priority. Your Summer B contract does not carry over to your Fall/Spring contract.
NOTE: The summer contracts for upper division transfer and current FSU students for Summer terms A, B and C will also open on March 25th. More information about upper divison transfer and current FSU students for Summer terms A, B and C can be found here.

Roommate and Room Type Preferences
Room Assignments
Students who complete a housing contract, pay an Admissions deposit, and complete registration for orientation by all published dates, will receive more information about summer room assignments in early June, shortly before the start of the Summer B term.
Students are assigned in order by the date & time they complete Step 1 of their housing contract as long as the student completes Steps 2 & 3 by the deadlines.
Roommate Requests
Incoming students who would like to room with a specific individual will be able to submit a roommate request between March 25th and May 1st. Any roommate request must be accepted on the Housing portal within 7 calendar days, and no later than May 1st, to finalize the match. Those students with a mutual roommate request at the time room assignments are made will be assigned based on the latest contract date of the roommate pair.
Room Type Preferences
You can update your room type preferences on the housing portal as many times as you would like until May 1. Most students should expect to be assigned to a shared bedroom space with a shared bath that adjoins another shared bedroom.
If you have a requested roommate, you should ensure that both you and your requested roommate have the same room type preferences in the same order before May 1st.
Cancellation
Only students who will not be enrolling at Florida State University for the Summer B Semester will be permitted to cancel their Summer B housing contract.
We recommend you do not sign an off-campus lease if you have already completed a housing contract for Summer 2026, as you will not be able to cancel it if you will be enrolled at FSU.
To cancel your contract due to not attending FSU:
- Login to the Housing portal, if not already logged in
- Click "Summer Housing Contract"
- Follow the prompts on the page
