May I have a roommate?
Yes. Roommates are allowed in two and three bedroom apartments. University Housing and Alumni Village do not arrange or assign roommates in the Alumni Village. Residents may choose their own roommate. Roommates must meet the same eligibility requirements as the leaseholder. Roommates should be listed on the University Housing application; however, residents may request a roommate at the Alumni Village office, if an individual is found after the application has been submitted.

May I have guests?
Yes. Guests are allowed but must be registered with the Alumni Village and University Housing office. Guests are permitted for a total of 2 weeks per semester . Keys can be issued to guests once they are registered and have provided picture identification.

Are utilities included in the rent?
No. Rental rates do not include utilities for Alumni Village. Utilities (gas, water, sewage, storm water, electricity) are purchased by the resident from the City of Tallahassee Utilities Department. Utilities services must be activated no later than the resident's scheduled move-in date and remain active throughout the occupant's tenure.

What are the average monthly utility bills?
1 Bedroom Flat: $120.00
2 Bedroom Flat: $145.00
2 Bedroom Townhouse: $165.00
3 Bedroom Townhouse: $195.00

Are cable, telephone included?
No. It is the resident's responsibility to arrange connection and payment for cable and telephone services.

Is Internet connection provided or available?
Internet connection services are not provided by Alumni Village. The cable company provides DSL cable Internet connection. The resident, by the provider of their choice, can arrange telephone modem or DSL Internet connection. Wireless service is not available in the Alumni Village.

Are non-air conditioned apartments available?
No. All apartments in the Alumni Village are equipped with University owned air conditioning units.

What appliances are provided?
A stove and refrigerator are provided.

Are dishwashers, garbage disposals, washers, or dryers allowed in the apartments?
No. Residents may not install dishwashers, garbage disposals, washers, or dryers. Laundry facilities are available on site.

What furniture is provided?
All apartments are furnished with a dining table and four dining chairs, a two-seat sofa, side chair, one full size bed, dresser, nightstand, desk and desk chair. Additional furniture maybe requested in the office. Requests will be accommodated if furniture is available.

May I install a security or satellite system?
No. No alterations or installations may be made to the apartments.

Is additional storage available?
No. Storage of personal items is confined to the inside of the apartments or residents may rent storage spaces from local storage vendors outside the Alumni Village.

Is there a grocery store in Alumni Village?
No. Alumni Village is centrally located to three grocery stores that are within in a short drive or bus ride.

How far is the Alumni Village from the Main Campus?
Alumni Village is 2.5 miles from the main campus. FSU Shuttles and the City Bus system provides transportation to students to the Main Campus.

What services are provided?
· Fully staffed on-site maintenance team
· On-Call Resident Managers for after-hours and weekend maintenance emergencies
· Community Managers to plan and implement community wide activities
· 2 fully equipped Laundromats
· City Bus and FSU Shuttles available
· Recycling station
· Free resident use of Recreation Hall for individual or group functions
· United States Postal Service mailboxes

What documents are required for married couples?
A marriage certificate or J2, F2 or H4 VISA must be submitted.

Are coed living arrangements allowed?
No. Florida law prohibits cohabitation; therefore coed roommates are not allowed.

May I bring my cat or dog?
No. Only caged birds and fish are allowed in the Alumni Village. Guests are also prohibited from bringing unauthorized pets.
